Beech Walk

Before this regeneration, Beech Walk wasn't being used to its full potential.

The housing on the 1950s site was in need of modernisation and didn't meet the sizing and energy standards we now expect of our homes, but were locally listed buildings.

Our team worked closely with Broxbourne Borough Council, creating plans that drew on design aspects from the existing buildings, complemented the Victorian almshouses adjacent to the site, and made space for 39 light, spacious apartments (where previously there had been 21).

Although the site underwent a complete demolition and regeneration, it was kept as an estate designated for people over 55.

It proved popular for downsizers thanks to the generous room sizes and quiet, leafy location alongside Barclay Park in Hoddesdon.

This site is one of four B3Living land-led projects that delivering 145 new properties in the centre of Hoddesdon. Median house prices in the Borough of Broxbourne are rising over £355,000, so we are working hard to address the need for affordable homes, especially the shortage of one - three bedroom properties.
